Can orders be submitted via FTP?

In Bay ROES, the order file can be compiled, but does not have to be immediately uploaded through ROES. On the last step in the checkout process, select "Save to disk for alternate delivery", instead of "Send now via the internet". Bay ROES will compile all the order information and files into one encrypted file, and you will be prompted to select a location for the file to be saved. This file ending in .RO can then be uploaded to our FTP server.

Windows:

  1. Open any folder on your computer.
  2. Click anywhere inside the address bar at the top of the folder window (not the search bar), and type in the following address then press Enter: ftp://bpl2.bayphoto.com
  3. A dialog will appear and request a username and password. Please contact us for the username and password.
  4. If the connection is successful, the folder window will display 3 folder icons - Incoming, Outgoing, and ROES.
  5. Open the ROES folder.
  6. Copy+paste or cut+paste the .RO file saved from ROES to the ROES folder on the FTP.
  7. Depending on the size of the order and the upload speed of your internet connection, the upload will take time to complete.
  8. Once the upload is complete, the order will process on our server, and should generate the confirmation email as normal.
  9. Alternatively, you may use a dedicated FTP client such as FileZilla, Cyberduck, or WinSCP (these are free to install).

Mac OS:

  1. The FTP site can be *viewed* in Mac OS itself, but to upload files you will need to use an FTP client such as FileZilla, Cyberduck, or Flow (available through the App Store). The following instructions pertain to FileZilla, but will be similar to other FTP clients.
  2. Once the FTP app is open, it will request the following information:
    Hostname/Server address: ftp://bpl2.bayphoto.com
Please contact us for the username and password.
  3. The FTP app will show the "Local Site" (your computer's contents) and the "Remote Site" (our FTP server's contents).
  4. In the Local Site, navigate to the location where the .RO file is saved.
  5. The Remote Site will display 3 folders - Incoming, Outgoing, and ROES.
  6. Open the ROES folder.
  7. After selecting the .RO file on the Local Site section, right-click or Ctrl+click it and select 'Transfer' or 'Upload'.
  8. Once the upload is complete, the order will process on our server, and should generate the confirmation email as normal.

After the upload is complete, please notify us so that we can make sure the order is able to process successfully.
