Sapna Reddy Shares Her Essential Print Displays
Creating an Ambiance of Healing, with MetalPrints & Acrylic Prints
"From a very early age I have been drawn to outdoor activities. Being in the middle of nature I feel has a truly therapeutic effect on our well-being. I am currently pursuing a dual career as a physician and a photographer based in California.
"As a physician I have often felt the hospital interiors had a sterile antiseptic feel to them. It did not make sense to try to achive treatment for the body when the environment did not convey an ambiance ideal for healing of the mind. So I approached our executive board at the hospital and asked them if we could begin to display images of nature instead of abstract art. The board agreed and that gave me the impetus to start creating images that could be used specifically to transform the walls of medical centers.
"Being in the Bay Area gave me easy access to Bay Photo Lab. I can inspect the prints prior to shipment and request changes if needed. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and the quality of the prints has often exceeded my expectations.
"Since the prints would need to be in high traffic areas I decided to go with either Metal or Acrylic Prints. In addition to durability, the colors and depth conveyed through these materials makes them an instant favorite. What started at one hospital began to spread at multiple medical centers.
| "It's been a truly rewarding journey. Everytime I walk through the hallway and hear someone comment on one of my pictures it makes me smile. Getting feedback from staff, saying that looking at the images on the walls has brightened their day, makes this journey even more rewarding."
